Dr Emily Pathe is a Chartered and Registered Counselling Psychologist. Emily has over ten years’ experience in the field of adult mental health. She has practiced therapeutically with individuals and groups across a variety of statutory (NHS), third sector settings and private settings. Emily has a particular interest in working with people impacted by psychological trauma, particularly those who experience various forms of social exclusion. Emily also has a special interest in group-based working and using the principles of Compassion-Focused Therapy to support health and social care staff through supervision and reflective practice. Emily has also worked in academia and continue to contribute to teaching at Glasgow Caledonian University as occasional lecturer. Emily is active with the British Psychological Society’s Division of Counselling Psychology Scotland, having held roles of Chair and Past Chair. Emily’s recent publications include the book Discourses of Psychological Trauma (2022) which she co-authored with Nikki Kiyimba, Christina Buxton and Jo Shuttleworth.
